— the youngest of 3.
— chose to stay with his father when his parents divorced when he was 6 years old. promised his mother he would take care of him.
— when he was 14 years old, his father became someone he didn't recognize and started to exhibit violent behavior and an interest in drinking and drugs. his grades fell and never recovered.
— at 19 years old, he burned his house down with his father inside after his older sister came to visit them and things went south quickly courtesy of the demon that had been living inside of his father for years. he was desperate to protect her.
— blamed by everyone in his family except his sister who witnessed what had happened, he moved to fukuoka, japan to get away from everything. it didn't work. the demon followed him.
— now lives in vancouver, canada working at a small bookstore. he often works overtime with little to no complaint just to keep his hands busy and to keep himself from thinking too much.
— despite his warm personality and general friendliness, he doesn't make an effort to reach out or connect with people, preferring to keep things as shallow as possible. he doesn't go out or participate in any community activities. he just keeps his head down and keeps to himself. this is purely out of fear of getting attached and being unable to leave again if he needs to.
— he's slowly learning how to open up to people, but he still won't let anyone help him.
